MM-2 INSTRUCTIONS
EQUIPMENT TYPE DEFINITIONS
A. Movable Assets
Includes equipment/items which are movable and were not attached to, or part of a building.
(See definition for Fixed Equipment and Building Service Systems)
Examples Are:
a. Minor Machinery
b. Tools
c. Furniture
d. Office Equipment: Typewriters, Calculators, Dictating Machines, etc.
e. Computers & Accessories
f. Vehicles
g. Laboratory Apparatus
h. Communication Apparatus
i. Maintenance Equipment
j. Photography Apparatus
etc.

B. Computer Software
Includes any software purchased separately or, as part of a computer system.
Definition: (American Hertiage Dictionary)
1. Written or printed data, such as programs, routines, and symbolic languages, essential to the operation of computers.
2. Documents containing information on the operation and maintenance of computer.
Examples of Software Packages Are:
a. Desk Top Publishing
b. Word Processing
c. Data Base Management
d. Spread Sheets
e. DOS

A. Building Service Systems
The general characteristrics of these systems are:
a. Affixed to buildings and not subject to transfer.
b. Fairly long life but shoter than the life of the building to which affixed.
Building Service Systems include attachments to buildings, such as:
1. Wiring
2. Electrical Fixtures
3. Plumbing
4. Elevators
5. Heating System
6. Air conditioning system
B. Fixed Equipment
Includes fixtures which are permanently attched to and made part of a building and which cannot be
removed without damaging walls, ceiling or floors or without impairing the building in some
manner. Examples are:
a. Built-in benches
b. Cabinets
c. Counters
d. Tables
e. Lockers
f. Conveying Systems
